|
Charles and Henry Greene were visionary architects of the 20th century, who designed complete homes, consisting of structure, and furnishings, into a cohesive environment. Their designs were specific for their clients, and never were intended for production, but rather to be created by skilled craftsmen for specific purposes. The Greene's were heavily influenced by the work and ideals of Gustav Stickley, as well as Asian design. Often referred to as The Pasadena style, or West Coast Arts and crafts, where most of their commissions took place, the style of Charles and Henry Greene is distinctly, and uniquely their own. This occasional table, inspired by the work of the Greene's, shares many of the elements and design motifs which were incorporated into the Blacker House, Circa 1907, such as the indented leg detail, the knuckle foot, splined bread board ends on the table top, and oversized box joints in the drawer construction. Designed as an occasional table, this piece functions extremely well as a night stand also Pictured in natural hard maple and walnut, with our hand rubbed oil finish |
